Case
Second Interview

I will be interviewing with a principle for the second time. The first time I did not have enough experience. I really want to work at this school so what should I do?

Solution #1
If the reason for not being hired the first time was a lack of experience, I would highlight what I have learned since interviewing previously because that is what your interviewer is probably looking for. The longer we teach, the more confidence we gain, so being confident is also important. Also, if you can provide examples of student work that demonstrate their success and growth due to your influence, this is very powerful. A portfolio, online or paper, would be a great way to demonstrate all of these things.

Thank you!

Solution #2
You should also tell your interviewer that you are very willing to learn new things that they may want you to learn, since you don't have as much experience as they would normally want. Also, make sure to include that you are a fast learner as well. This may ease there concerns about your lack of experience and make them feel like your transition into working for them will be a smooth one.

Thank you

Being open to learning new things is often part of what administration is looking for when selecting teachers. Schools need a balance in their teachers so it will be helpful for them to know that you are hoping to grow as a teacher under their leadership.

Solution #3
Can you become a substitute teacher in this county? You can gain valuable experience this way and gain insight into the workings of the district.
Solution #4
Get more experience and proof of it
Solution #5
Always, always, always PRACTICE with someone before interviewing. Look up the most common interview questions and study those.
Solution #6
i would study up on interview questions regarding the principal position. i also wouldn’t be afraid of telling the person interviewing you that you do not have enough experience but have the desire to learn.
Solution #7
If your experience has been enhanced since the last interview, start by showcasing this. Also, display your eagerness to learn and work at their school.
Solution #8
Pray. Just kidding. I all honesty, I will show him or her how I have grown. I will inform them that I am a team player and open to ideas of veteran teachers.
