I would think about switching the seating arrangement for any future exams, especially if there are particular students sitting close that are suspected of cheating off one another. During the exam I would stand at the front of the classroom for visible access of the students as well as walk around the room, going between students desks, to ensure they know I am watching and increase proximity which at times can be enough to put the cheating to a halt.

I would walk around and quietly tell several students, not just those I suspect of cheating, that they need to keep their eyes on their own papers. I would also make sure to keep a close eye on those I suspect because unless I knew for sure I would not want to make any accusations. In the future I would rearrange my seating chart to limit this problem and possible even create tests with the questions in a different order in order to prohibit students from copying answers from each other.

Make sure the students know that you are actively and enthusiastically monitoring them during the test. Walk around the room, up and down the isles. Remind them to keep their eyes on their own paper. Another strategy that I use, and its almost a form of trickery, is to label the tests. I will often take a test that I have 30 identical copies of and label them as tests A, B, C, D, or whatever you choose. Make sure to stress to the students that it is imperative that they put the correct test letter (or number) so they will be graded correctly. This almost always works for me. The only time I have been called out is when I was not properly monitoring them. You have to make sure they turn their tests over as they turn them in as well.

I would definitely put blinders up around students while they are taking test in your room. If you suspect it during a test, simply take up their test, move them and make them start over on a new test form. Always, have two test forms for situations like that. Sadly enough, there are very dishonest students. All we can do is our part to prevent the situation. If they do it anyway, there has to be consequences.

Consequences should take place. Cheating is a very serious matter and when it comes to cheating at all, depending on the grade punishment should be a zero on the exam, suspension, failing grades etc.

The first thing that I would try is to stand in the front of the class, and face the students as they take their exams. The second thing I would do is to have the students who are cheating sit in the front of the class next to where I am standing. Finally if it is necessary have the students sit in different seats for each exam, this would prevent the formation of "cheating buddy's".

Switching up the seating is always a good option. you could also separate certain students that you suspect are cheating as well as monitoring the class by walking around.

I would begin to watch the students directly and walk around the classroom to see if I can notice anything suspicious about the students I suspect are cheating.

If you did not see the student cheating than they should still be ASAP. However, if you do see the students that is not tolerated and the students should not receieve a grade.

Figure out why their cheating? Do they lack confidence? Have they not studied? Parent involvedment? Separate seats. The key is to figure out why then maybe you can help

Never suspect a student of cheating or confront them about it if there is no actual proof. For the next test simply rearrange seating amongst all of the students so that it does not happen again and implement the use of table dividers so that it makes it tougher for students to cheat and makes it easier to visually see who is cheating.

Maybe not on this exam but a prior test I would exhibit a zero tolerance policy for cheating and if any student is caught looking on other students' tests, they receive zeros. No student would dare cheat on the important exam. Also a seating chart could be used to deter this.

I would walk by the student to see if he/ she tried to hide anything and if so ask to see it; if they are in fact cheating then they get a zero.

I would focus on proximity control and walk around the classroom constantly, changing my paths and turning at unexpected times. I would also move students around at will, simply explaining that some students are having a hard time keeping their eyes on their own papers.

I would stop what I am doing of my own work and not take my eyes off the students. This will hopefully prevent them from cheating or trying to cheat.

I would stop the test and collect the work they have already completed. The whole class. I would then have everyone stand up and move their desks further apart then i would mix up their seats and place them by different students to help avoid this problem. If this does not help you will need to handle students individually if you catch them cheating. Take their papers, call home and they receive a 0.
