I have a few computers in my classroom that I like using during station time. I am a 3rd grade science teacher. I have a few things that I have students do during station time on the computers. However, I feel as though the station is becoming repetitive. What are some activities that I can do in this station?

My suggestion would be to try Quizlet as a station option. This website allows you to create digital flashcards that also have audio. There are pre made sets of cards or you could create your own cards for any content strand. The student then practices the vocabulary online and there is also an option to print out these cards are create a hard copy of the flash cards. This is an excellent review for any given unit's vocabulary terms. The student can also play a game called scatter that allows you to attach the correct definition to the term. The student can also quiz themselves with the definitions. Please check out www.quizlet.com

I have used Glogsters in my classroom for science. With this website, you can create a page that has links to other websites. These websites can contain reading you want the student to do, videos you want them to watch, etc. You could even create a web quest for them to complete as they go through the Glogster. This will make sure they are actually comprehending the material.

I think brain pop, a group research project or a fun video on how to's like on volcanoes, tornadoes, weather or plants are just a few.

Use plickers, QR codes, and KaHoot's! These are interactive and engaging for students. What does your students do at the computers?

Right now my students are watching videos on Study Jams or Brainpop and answering questions. I have a found a few science games that correlates with the standards that they do. They have done some research for a group science project. That's about it.

Switch up what they need to complete on the computers. Like others said, assign BrainPop videos and Quizlets, but Kids National Geographic also has a great website.

Possibly show a video on the assignment at hand and have the students work on their own interactive version of this assignment. The students can create their own diagram or physical showing of what they are learning. It is a fun way to inegrate technology and hands on work.

You could have students participate in online learning with websites like ixl and khan academy.
