She should do what every she is able to handle. The fact that the school counselor asked means it would not be agiasnt the rules by them. If she is concern aout the rule she could run it by the prinicpal. Also thing to consider is the welfare of the child? Is she able to handle a child at home and do her job at school? Can she afford a child in here life? I would say if her reelationship with the studnet is that good and can provide easily for the child then yes she can and even should do it.

It is always best for children to be placed with people they know and have a bond to than strangers in the foster care system. The child's case manager will be looking for family; but if no family were available than the teacher would be a great placement. It would be a huge commitment that must be thought through carefully.

If Mrs. Appleby feels as the student for her, she should do all the process and take the student under her wing. Comfort, is so important for students when learning, I will do whatever it takes to see this student succeed.

I think if she is willing to take this big responsibility she should go for it! she could change the childs life.

Well since the school counselor asked the teacher to foster the student it is not against the rules. This can only benefit the child due to their situation. Definitely foster the student. Every student deserves to be with those who they have a close genuine bond with in the situation where they've been taken away from their home and will obviously only thrive from being fostered by the right person.

I think that fostering children is a great thing. However if she isn’t in a place to do it then she can’t. I think the thing she can do is make sure is ready/able/okay with taking the student in. If not they ask around to see if anyone can and try to make the student feel wanted even though she may not be able to take them in.

This is really up to the teacher and what she is comfortable with. I think it would be wonderful seeing s how attached the child is to her. But it all depends on how willing she is.

Since the foster services will find there own parents for the child, the teacher might not need to worry about adopting a child. Taking foster parent classes, however, might help the teacher know and figure out different ways to react and handle situations with the child and their personal, academic and social life.

I believe it is up to the teacher if that is something she can do.
