Holiday's With Jehovah's Witness

What is the best way to teach or reference holidays when there is a Jehovah's Witness in the class. I wouldn't want the others to hinder in activities and celebrations.

Solution #1
When teaching, teachers should differentiate between knowledge needed for historical/ cultural context and any celebratory activities. All students need informational content that might influence the context for reading or historical comprehension. However, this is different from celebrating holidays. Provide alternative assignments that are aligned with the same goals as the rest of the kids for students with religious preferences to participate in.

I would let those students educate the other students about their religion. I would change their assignments based upon their beliefs. I think these students should feel included and that their religion is not wrong. They deserve respect and not be singled out just because of beliefs.

The easiest way to to simpley to tell boththe student and the familty that the class is going to learn and celebrate about a certain holiday and because or their beliefs they are not required to celebrate if they do not want or are allowed to. I would also point out that the celebration is not manditory but an assignment about what we learned about the holiday could be required and would ask the parents if they are problmes with that.
Solution #4
I would reference the holiday but always have an alternative assignment prepared for anyone with religious conflicts. If it is a celebration, I would inform the student that he or she was not required to participate.
