A parent calls to complain about the behavior of one of the third-grade students in your class. The student writes on the back of the other children's T-shirts, wipes paint from a brush onto their jeans, and pushes, kicks, and tries to trip them as they walk past him in class and on the playground. The parents want you to put a stop to this kind of behavior in your classroom and on the playground. What are your thoughts about what you might do in this particular situation?
I agree with this solution. I think addressing the class and making it clear that you will not tolerate the behavior is a good strategy. I would also remind the class that writing on another students clothes could possibly damage them, and would cost the parents money to replace.
