Making Lessons Relatable

My class is currently working on ratios. My CT was using examples like “two red marbles for every pink marble”. The students were not very engaged in this lesson. I changed the ratios to comparing items like iPhones and Androids and McDonald’s and Chick-fil-a’s. The students got very excited for the lesson when it involved these more relatable subjects.
