I think you two should sit down and have a conversation about it for sure, however not in a way that would make it accusatory. I would sit down with her and say "I noticed our teaching styles are completely different, and I want to see if there was a way we could make it so Co-Teaching isn't as confusing for the students." That way it shows that no one is at fault, and that she may decide to hold back a bit and try to let you do it in your style. Other then that, that's about as much as you can do. The reality is that she is the CT and this is her classroom. If you can't get anywhere with it just try to take notes on what you want to implement and what you don't want to implement in your future classroom.

I would have a conversation asking your CT why she prefers this teaching style and how she sees it effective. This sort of information could give you insight from a veteran teacher that could be beneficial.

Unfortunately, I am not sure how, as an intern, you would confront the teacher on her teaching style. As long as she is not breaking any ethics rules this may be what she feels works for her students. She may have been more relaxed and realized that style would not work for the group she has. I agree that would be hard to watch, especially with your style being different, but sometimes we can learn from different teaching styles that may benefit us later with the variety of students we will encounter. If you feel compelled to say something maybe the way to approach her is asking her if her teaching style works best for her for classroom management.

From my past experiences, it seems to me that there really is not much that you can do to change the way that a teacher teachings. This may be hard to deal with while you are in your internship but just make sure to stay true to how you feel as a future teacher.

Unfortunately, you can not dictate how your CT teaches the class as an intern. However, you may adapt to your own teaching style. I was in a similar situation last semester with my CT where I had a completely different teaching style than she. Although, I didn't agree with how she went about disciplining the students there is little I could do. I just came in with a smile on my face and did what I thought would be best for the students.

I would approach your advisor or the teacher watching over your internship before you approach your teacher personally. After all, you are an intern and you are a guest in their classroom. That being said, there is an opportunity for a conversation to be had with your CT, potentially asking them why they won't try a softer approach, such as a "well I would handle this situation like this, I think it's best for the students, what do you think about that approach?" This will allow you to open up the communication on teaching styles with your CT without coming off as accusatory or as if you know better than a veteran teacher.

Honestly, try to collaborate with them. You both think your way is effective but maybe explain the reasoning for how the two of you teach. Communication is always important and it be mature about it. It's okay to have different opinions.

I had a CT with a completely different teaching style also. It's hard to stay positive in that situation but do your best to learn from the CT despite the differences. There is a reason why they were chosen to mentor interns and regardless of your difference in styles, there is always something to be learned. I wouldn't bring it up to the CT, because it is likely that she notices the difference as well.

I believe that that isn't your place to confront your CT about that. As you stated, you two just have different teaching styles. Take what you are seeing and use it for when you enter your own classroom- even if its lessons like what you shouldn't do..

I would. While teaching styles vary, this seems more like a conflict. The students likely will appreciate the extra breathing room and it will avoid a more antagonistic relationship if it can be relaxed.

I personally would just use this as a lesson learned. I don't think you should bring up to the CT after all it's not your classroom. Learn from her mistakes, you might have a intern that feels like you are to liberal with your students but it's your classroom so you can run it how you want, but while you are a intern don't try to tell the CT anything about their class.

I think it is best to wait and see if another problem approaches and then maybe the two of you could sit down and talk about other ways that the situation could have been handled. I believe many CTs try to act tough with their students when we are around, but we would much rather see the compassion they have for their students.
