Is there a way to introduce culture into lessons that would make it appropriate and fun for everyone in the classroom?

A fun way to incorporate culture into lessons, is occasionally offering that students can bring in a snack of something that reflects their culture, or the culture they are learning about in class (of course, allergies and permission slips will be necessary, but those are fairly easy obstacles to work around).

There are many ways that you cane creative and fun while including all students culture. One idea could be a "cultural show-and-tell", where students bring in an object tied to their culture. You could also have all students bring in a cultural snack or dish and everyone can sample one-anothers cultural dish or snack. The important thing is to be inclusive of all and be creative.

A way to make it fun is by having a creative activity where they are making artifacts from that culture as well as listening to the music from that particular culture and discuss its relevance.

I think a fun way to incorporate culture into the classroom is to ask some of the students' parents to come in and tell stories about their culture, especially if they grew up in other places. I also think that choosing books to read in the classroom that showcase many different cultures would be something you could do every day if you would like.

You could fist start by sending home a culture activity for the students and parents to complete. Nothing too hard or time consuming but something that will give you a simple over view. From there you equal up the amount of time you discuss and incorporate each culture. For example, if you have enough (probably won't) culture to cover each month of the school year you could. The students involved with that culture could also have a day where they bring in a special item or food to share with the class.

Yes, there are several ways to do this including having activities or lessons surrounding a specific culture along with incorporating certain cultures and terms into lessons.

Allow students to take turns once a month sharing their own culture.
