I would let them know your highest goal in the classroom and then tell them how you plan to accomplish it. For a majority of parents their kids are everything to them so if you show parents how you are going to help their child succeed they are more likely to respect and appreciate you.

Just being the best teacher to their kids that you can be. Most parents just want to see that their children are learning something in school, and are happy doing it. By being a positive, helpful teacher to your students, you will effortlessly earn the respect of their parents.

I feel like the best way to earn the parents respect is to communicate with them a lot about how their child is doing, and communicate with them if their child is acting out in the classroom.

This can be a tricky goal to navigate, as all parents are so different. However, a few things can be done to earn their respect, such as establishing up front your expectations and goals for students. You should also always keep communication open with emails, programs like Remind, and also parent-teacher conferences. The most important for me I feel is to see results within their kids. If and when they notice that change with their childs learning level, they will take you very seriously.

I would let the parents know you are their Childs teacher and that you are there to better their child and their education and that you will do everything to help that student succeed.
