Everything was done correctly, sending home homework sheets is a good start but to go even further I would schedule a parent teacher conference to see why they aren't working with their child at home. I would also remind them of the importance and benefits of continuing the child's learning outside the classroom.

You have done everything right so far, and I would consider reaching out to your teammates and the student's previous teachers to see if any strategies may have worked previously. If nothing improves, I would suggest scheduling a meeting with the parents either at home or school to discuss the need for parent engagement in their child's education. It is also essential to keep in mind parents of ESE students typically face more demanding and time-consuming responsibilities in their day-to-day life than other parents. These responsibilities may affect how much they can help their child with their homework.

Sending worksheets home is a great opportunity for parents to work with their kids. If a parent continued not to work with them I would try to have a conference with them to find out what I could do to help as the student's teacher.

I would host a parent teacher conference as a way to both remind and encourage parents to study with their children. However out side possible monthly events I would not push the topic further as the decision is ultimately up to the parents and whether they choose to better their children learning is within their rights. the best you can do is try and support and help your students as best you can in school.

I would communicate to the parents the need for the homework. If there are students that specifically need more help than others, I would send out an individual communication, informing the parents of the need for the homework. If the student's grades suffer, I would remind them of the homework and how working at home would improve the grade if they are not happy with it.
