Every year, teachers deal with students not following the classroom rules. There are many sources to this happening in the classroom. I know that sometimes the students result from what was going on in their homes after school. However, you could always talk to the parents about their behaviors as well. But there has to be other ways to get the students to follow directions. What would be some ways to help the students get back on track?
External factors are sometimes the reason student misbehaviors occur in schools. Some ways to help students get back on track are providing an incentive like verbal praise when the student is exhibiting a behavior that you would like to see more of. A teacher should provide the student with proximity until the misbehavior fades. It is important that a teacher does not take their focus off the rest of the class or the lesson they are teaching. A teacher should follow district rules and procedures for managing misbehavior effectively. Teachers can also set up a meeting with the student after class to discuss their progress and performance.
