I don't think it would be offensive at all to inquire, just be mindful that teachers already dedicate lots of their personal time to their students, and could not have time to tutor outside of class time. Many schools will offer after-school tutoring programs that certain teachers may help out with, this would be a great way to make sure students are receiving the help they need and that it is relevant to their specific coursework.

It really just depends on the dynamic between the student and the teacher because it should not matter if your teacher is the one tutoring you. As long as the teacher makes sure the student is comfortable this should hopefully not be a potential issue.

It’s not disrespectful to have a student’s teacher act as their tutor it can actually be beneficial since the teacher is familiar with the student’s needs and learning style.
