Case
Sleeping

There is one student who I have noticed over the past couple of weeks that doesn’t get a lot of sleep and I can tell because during the lessons and his activities, he is falling asleep. We have talked to the parents at home and they ensure he’s getting enough sleep, but I’m not entirely sure. What should we do?

Solution #1
ask student if they are getting enough sleep and submit ideas for them to try like putting the phone with their parents turning off any lights or other electronics.
Solution #2
The fact that their parents state they're getting enough sleep is strange. I would likely talk with the student and ask earnestly from a place of empathy what the reason is for falling asleep in class so often. I would also try to see if there are patterns or times of the day the student is falling asleep during so I can put more engaging activities in that part of our day.
Solution #3
I would say to see if you can open your classroom up to the student earlier in the day so they can get a a quick nap and then see what happens after
