Case
Laptop computer

An elementary teacher named George checked out a laptop computer from his schools computer lab so that he could do some work at home. The following week, another teacher used the same laptop computer and noticed that there were numerous clips of pornography saved in a video file on the hard-drive. With the help of the district's technology specialist, the school principal traced the pornographic images to the week that George had used the computer. George admitted to viewing pornography in the privacy of his own home on the laptop. His employment was immediately terminated. George filed suit. The courts ruled against him. Why?

The courts ruled against George because he used school property to view the pornographic sites. The computer was purchased with state or federal funding. It was violation of the Code of Ethics- moral turpitude. Teachers have to sign the technology acceptable use policy which states acceptable and unacceptable use. He violated school policy.

Yes, it was very unacceptable for him to do that. He should have knew the possible consequences of what was to come if he used a school computer and looked at that on it while taking it home.

Solution #2
Because it was a violation of the code of ethics. It is found to be inappropriate and a student could have seen this on the computer. It is definitely against the code of ethics.
Solution #3
He should be using his own property for any out of school activities including this one. He is not permitted to do such things with school property. That is nit why these resources are provided and it is because of people like him that these awesome resources and benefits get taken away.
Solution #4
I feel that the courts ruled against him because what he did was illegal. He checked out private school property and used it for something other than work which is against the code of ethics.
Solution #5
You can't use school property to view private, personal things. That is inappropriate.
