Case
Gang is bullying him

One of your students shows up alone at your home. He claims that a gang is bullying him, wants to discuss this with you and he can't tell at school or he'll be attacked. He has several bruises. What would be the right action(s)?

The appropriate thing to do would be to call the local law enforcement and contact school administration and parents. If the student trusts you enough to show up on your door-step, they are looking for your protection and guidance. The best way to do this is to turn the issue over to the appropriate authorities.

I Agree the first people to call would be the local law enforcement then the Administration. When the bullying just involves a single bully it is reasonable to confront the bully yourself,But, not when there is a group who have possible gang affiliation.

I agree that this is the best possible solution. Although it would be awkward to have a student show up on your doorstep, I can understand their need to seek help in a less visible environment. Calling the authorities and notifying the administration would be the best course of action.

The right action to take is protecting the child. Call the authorities.

I recommend calling the school board, calling his parents and calling local law enforcement to have them come to your house and give a statement to see what they can do about it. If he is being bullied in school the school principal needs to take the appropriate steps of disbanding this gang and make the appropriate suspensions.

Well in the Florida Code of Ethics it states under 3.a "Shall make reasonable effort to protect the student from conditions harmful to learning and/or to the student's mental and/or physical health and/or safety." You as a teacher, would be able to counsel the student for several hours if needed, and devise a plan to catch the bullies.
