Give that child something else to hold so that his hands are already occupied. If his hands are busy working on another task, then it will be harder for that student to grab another item. Everytime you see that student with their hands quiet and to themselves, you need to make sure you use positive reinforcement. When you see good behavior, reward that student. Maybe after so many times a day with hands to himself, you can have him choose an activity that he likes to participate in.

I would have a zero tolerance policy for anyone touching each other. I would make sure I do not single out this student while going over these rules but I will have him sitting front and center to he can hear the consequences clearly. I will be sure to enforce the consequences to any student that breaks the rules. I also will try positive reinforcement for this student, every day he does not hit someone or touch someone he will earn a star, once he earns 10 stars he will earn a reward.

I would want to establish at the beginning of the year that the classroom rules state that all students need to keep hands and feet to themselves. If the students fail to do this, then they will get consequence. I would discipline the student at first and if that does not work that I would find an alternative for the student to keep his hands/feet on. I have seen where students can hold a stress ball and still do work and to have feet levers that are underneath the desk to help the student's feet to be occupied and still concentrating on work.

Initially, I would speak with the student explaining that we must respect others' bodies and belongings. Touching inappropriately is unacceptable. If the student continues the behavior, I would remove him from privileges and fun activities. I would have a class discussion talking about our classroom rules. If this continues, talk to the parents and the counselor. A variety of factors may be causing the behavior, such as learning disability, not being challenged enough, social development, etc. Find the root cause!

One idea to help this student would be to seperate him for the safety of others and himself. In class, I would have him sit a little closer to the front of the classroom. Another option would be for him to be the line leader. This would allow him to have a job, and keep him away from being behind other students. I think that this will be an ongoing problem, however, I would take little steps at a time.

I would have this student help me man the computer that I am projecting from. This would keep him engaged in the lesson an dhave him sit away from people he would potentially want to annoy.

This should not be tolerated in any way. I would speak to the student directly in front of the class whenever he cannot keep his hands to himself and remind him of his inappropriate behavior. I would have a specific consequence set up that whenever he is seen touching or messing with another student he has to complete an extra assignment or clean the room. This would teach him that there are always other ways to keep his hands busy if he cannot keep them to himself.

This can become a huge problem if not stopped immediately. Each time he puts his hands on someone make sure there is a consequence whether it's little or big. Put him in the front of the line, in the front of the class, and have a consequence jar. This jar contains multiple punishments like write 10 times of what you did wrong, how the student plans on fixing it and even an apology letter to the student harmed. These types of consequences single the student out and give him no opportunity to continue it. Also by isolating him he doesn't get the attention he is striving for.

With a student like this or a situation like this one, you can have a desk sat off by itself an have the student sit there until he is ready to behave and keep his hands to himself. Keep the student desk close to the teacher desk. That will make the student want to do right because he will want to sit close with every one else.

If the class and I were walking somewhere, I would have this student walk by himself with me or at the front of the line. This would eliminate the problem of having him put his hands on another student because he must either stay with me or look at the front of the line where there is no other students. If this did not work, I would send the parents and email, or call them and suggest a parent teacher conference to discuss some concerns.

I would talk to the student but i would also have the school counselor there they can help bring some information and try to get down to the root of why the students insists on touching other. I think an incentive policy might help but its not fair to the others.
